Aqualung with JACK and LADSPA |
|
Here is the audio player Aqualung, compiled with JACK and LADSPA support.
This package is compatible only with Puppy 4.3 alphas, currently Puppy 416alpha. It might also run on uPup, I'm not sure.
It definitely won't run on older Puppies without the libgio library.
Puppy 416 already contains Aqualung, but without JACK and LADSPA support.
You can read discussions on this subject here -
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=323091#323091
You must install all three dotpet packages attached.
Obviously this version will overwrite the standard version of Aqualung currently in Puppy 416.

Regarding LADSPA, you will see a button on the gui called "FX" which will access the LADSPA settings.
To integrate with Aqualung, this dotpet package also includes liblrdf (Lightweight RDF library) and Raptor RDF parser library.
Regarding JACK, all I know is that the JACK daemon must be running before you launch Aqualung, with this command -

So you went with the newer jack version, is there any real bonus to using the newer version over the older one at 1/2 the file size? The sources to the older jack version can be found below.

FYI,there's a newer SVN build of Aqualung available ( R-1065 ) with a few additional bugfixes.
...and the latest version of JACK is 1.9.2

Yes, it seems I provided the latest JACK1, instead of the new code JACK2.
But after talking to various forum members by PM I'm not motivated to update the package. It appears to me that JACK is far more relevant to audio production, than to audio reproduction.
