Intel modem support improvement

This is where you post about usability issues (not bugs) in pre-release versions of Puppy 4.x (alphas, betas, rcs). Usability issues are things like poor contrast in the themes, non-ergonomic button layouts, unintuitive application behavior, etc.

Intel modem support improvement

#1 Post by rerwin »

I have made further updates to the Intel modem udev rules and initialization scripts. They use devices 536ep0 and Intel5370, instead of the ones in older Puppys. The attached package should be used for Puppy 4.2, 4.2.1, and 5alpha9. It is also submitted for inclusion after Puppy 5 alpha 9.

For Puppy 4.1.2, use the package I posted here:http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 797#266797

If you install the attachment on a puppy that is already using an Intel modem, please use pupdial (when disconnected) to probe > ERASE and then reboot. That will detect the modem and use a new device name. (The old names, /dev/536 and /dev/537, can be deleted from puppy altogether, whenever this package is integrated into 4.2.1+.)
