Well it works in the menu, like it should and your starting it from the wrong location and wrong name, Smile
/usr/local/jwmconfig/jwmConfigMgr

they did have it located at /usr/local/apps//jwmconfig/j but I moved it to where it normally is Smile

I tried to download from the gposil site too and 4 attempts failed at just under 50 mb.

The other link worked fine though. Very Happy Very Happy

Sadly I couldn't access the gposil site at all when I tried recently. Is it still up, or is there a problem with the server?

Thanks, but I don't have a fast enough connection to be able to download a Puppy iso from home though I'd like to try your Puplet sometime. it looks good.

I tried to access gposil for the database (pppd 0.6b), sorry I should have made that clear.

Right now i'm compiling gcc-4.3.3 the same one used in Jpup, I figured that it would be good to use the same one as Jpup, So I downloaded the sources from the ubuntu repo, Man thats a big working directory, the Directory is 700MB, sure does take a lot of memory when compiling live, lol
I'll keep ya informed how it went Smile

Really, Really Nice one, ttuuxxx!
Very nice-looking new toy to play with. Very HappyVery HappyVery Happy
I had missed the nifty 2.14R altogether (came into the puppy world first with 2.16).Smile
Been playing around with X4 the whole day now.

Regarding the JWM config error:
Menu>Desktop>JWM configuration runs first after "Refresh menu" has been executed. (There is, though, a redirection script in /usr/sbin which should be changed to point to the new jwm-config location)
But, only the shell; no settings can be changed.
Code:
Xdialog --title "Virtual Desktops"  --inputbox "Specify your desired number of virtual desktops (1 - 8)" 0 0

taken from /usr/local/jwmconfig/virtualDesk outputs
Code:
 (process:11792): Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by C library

Gtk-WARNING (recursed) **: Locale not supported by C library.
        Using the fallback 'C' locale.
Both Xdialog and gtkdialog3 issues this Gtk-warning when run.

Ah, well, I can set it in the jwmrc-files. Cool

Keyboard layout:
Menu>Setup>Mouse/Keyboard Wizard:
Neither Choose keyboard layout for your country... nor Choose keyboard layout, older 2-letter method... works. Sad

But, Advanced Xorg keyboard configuration>Layouts lets me set my keyboard to "se" SmileSmile

I would have wanted to use xvidtune - no luck. Nevermind, I can shift the screen sideways with the monitor buttons. Cool

Like reported by others, no luck installing to hard-drive (tried both vfat and ext2), but on the other hand, that goes also for 2.14R1.01.Cool

Apart from the above, everything I've tested works fine.

VERY GOOD JOB on FF!!

Thank you, and Keep up the good work!Smile

cheers/
MHHP

well it went to 1611MB and had a fortran error, should of disabled it and a few other features, well it looks like a good compile, I'll try it out, if not then I'll redo it, Thats the largest compile I've done to date, My previous record was QT, that was a bit over 1GB, then Seamonkey around 700MB.
Note to self, use a pupsave, lol

MinHundHetePerro is right, after execute refresh menu the .jwmrc file is updated with the info from JWM-configuration.desktop and the JWM Configuration can be launched from menu. Then you should update .jwmrc before remaster the next version (image wrong_initial_jwmrc.gif taken from a first boot).

I also found that Desktop Colour and Desktop Background options don´t work from "System" tab in JWM Configuration Manager (attached image settings_error_in_jwmconfig.gif).

But I could easily fix it just editing the jwmConfigMgr script (attached image easy_background_fix_jwmConfigMgr.gif). I edited the background link and it works in this example...

Thank you for the attention pleased ttuuuxxx. And please take a break you are going too fast. Laughing

Uh, some suggestions about uploading/downloading at puppy2.org:

- we can keep posting new pup_214R.sfs, as the testers should be familiar with frugal install (?)

- the drivers file can be downloaded by new testers here:
puppy2.org/repo/zdrv_214R.sfs

And download accelerators - I've heard that this is the way to kill a server quickly. Very Happy
