equinox is still under development and not stable. I remember that the special effects in equinox do not work and it crashes, esp the menu effects.

Hmm,

Are these effects enabled by default? I have not seen anything I would consider an effect, just a clean, quick menu. No stability issues either.

These effects have been disabled in the dotpup so that it dose not crash. However if you do activate them be aware.

Got it from MU's post. Worked fine on a clean pup001. (deleted the earlier one)
I have to say it is fast but visually not appealing. XFCE still gets the top billing :-)

There's a fairly new lightweight distro called STX using EDE as the default WM.

I've tested it on my old laptop, which has video problems in Puppy.

It's not bad, except for a bug with dialup modem connections.

A new version of STX is expected after Christmas. There are network bugs being fixed now, so you might as well wait.

I believe there are plans for a liveCD version. If you can read German you might find more information at: http://www.smp.soundhost.de/smf/index.php

I see the distro as complementary to Puppy on older systems, eg STX on your hard drive and Puppy live.

i know this thread is kinda old...

just want to answer the question :D

1.) download the theme
2.) extract the theme to /root/.ede/theme
3.) use EDE's window manager settings
--> check on the "use theme"
--> point out the location of your theme, select the default theme
and click ok

EDE v1.1 is already released! SaxonOS is using it. Any dotpups or pupgets for this one? :-D
