Sorry Lobster,

I have to object to this, buddha state of a person is not something to joke about or or be given as title for common people. Only a few enlightened ones are blessed enough to achieve that state, including Prince Siddharta. Warren Wilson, You, Me or others are not wise enough to be titled "boddhisatva"

But, it's your own bad karma...so it's up to you...

trio,

he is not joking, lobster is known for having absolutely no sense of humor

:P

perhaps this is a difference between theravada and mahayana concepts of bodhisattva?

we can't even agree on the spelling!

Watched an interesting show on how to make vegetarian
marshmallows today; On the "Supreme Master" channel.

Few if any animals lost their lives...very enlightening.

Hi Trio

You may well be right.
Thank you for leaving it up to me.
I will bear my karma . . .

According to the teachings of the Buddha, whom you may consider wise, everyone eventually becomes a Buddha.

In the Mahayana tradition one vows to enable this procedure.

The rainbow body is the 'Buddha Mind' or perfection principle that through good karma and practice will eventually attain this condition.

In the teachings of Dhyana, Chan and Zen
enlightened Masters have taught that even a dog
has Buddha nature.

As someone who considers every blade of grass a potential Buddha, I tend to believe Warren is closer
to the condition of Boddhisatva than the average blade of grass.

Maybe you have had the good karma to come into contact with a higher form of grass? 8)

thanks Bert for the Metta ray on the Metro link :)

Kind of.

In Christian terms a Saint is a person of extraordinary virtue
and sanctity.

In Vajrayana Buddhism a Boddhisatva may be a principle, personification or meditational 'deity'

Just as Saints are prayed to
in the Christian orthodox Churches
you can pray to WhoDo if you so wish . . .

In Yinyana Buddhism a Boddhisattva is given a large hat
and asked to fill it with emptiness if possible . . .

If you laugh at something it becomes funny
If you take it seriously it becomes serious
whether and how you take it - is up to you . . .

As the Mahayana Buddhists say 'Emptiness is form
and form is Emptiness'
