Puppy wont load the GUI

#1 Post by blackdog »

Hi all~

I tried booting puppy 1.0.7 again today but it wouldnt load the GUI. It goes to the screen asking you if you want to change your mouse, etc; the screen when you press ctrl+alt+backspace. It just comes up and stays there. I tried typing Xwin in the command screen, but the screen just flickered and returned back to the command screen.

I need help! (puppy has been very frustrating lately)

Cheers :D

type more /tmp/xerrs.txt to see if there are any error messages

maybe the window manager hasn't been set properly ... you can type xwin jwm to set it to start jwm by default

Also, if xorgwizard doesn't work for you, try xorgconfig
-- both are scripts that you execute from the commandline, when X not running.
