MacPup Foxy 2 Upgrade to 4.2? and pbackup problem

#1 Post by paule »

I really like Macpup Foxy 2, and have been using it for some time. Just in the last day, my pbackup has died, and I don't know how to fix it. The icon comes up, and it indicates that it is loading, but it just sits there and does nothing. Any ideas how I can fix this?

Also, when will the next Macpup based on puppy 4.2 be coming out? I would like to upgrade to the latest puppy, but want to keep the current look etc.

Thanks again for a great puplet!

cheers, Paul

Any ideas when we can see Foxy 3? I have found a couple of problems with foxy 2 and am ready to upgrade. Does anyone else have a problem with the cursor disappearing occasionally?

cheers, Paul

Fox 3 is still cooking..... the next macpup release with be macpup opera , will be out in a few weeks.

12,000 downloads and no one else has had a cursor problem . I would recommend you check the md5sum on your download ...You may need to re install it, if your download is ok. I havent had any other issues reported with pbackup .

Oddly, I am seeing the disappearing cursor problem in 4.2 on a PC laptop and read at least one other post referencing it.

I believe, however, that it may be hardware-specific and action-specific as my children report it happens when they use certain function keys on this older Panasonic Toughbook CF-28 laptop.

I believe that they are using the function keys to raise and lower volume - I have asked them not to do that and to report if the problem occurs under any other circumstances.

"Oddly, I am seeing the disappearing cursor problem in 4.2"

Macpup foxy 2.0 is built on 4.1.2 not 4.2 so that would be a puppy problem not a macpup problem. You need to report that in the bug section for 4.2.
