SP107
unofficial Service Pack for Puppy 1.0.7
1) fixed path to realplayer codecs in /root/.gxine/config
so realplayer audio streams will play in gxine
2) changed $@ to "$@" in the default wrappers
(defaulttexteditor, defaultemail, etc etc)
so that they will work properly if there are spaces
in the PATH to the files(s)
0.0.2 Jan 1, 2006:
3) added MU's set-time-for-puppy

Bless Mr. GuestToo, Mr. MU, and Mr. John Murga, Sahib Sir |
|
Thanks to Mr. GuestToo, to Mr. MU, and of course to Mr. John Murga, Sahib Sir, and to all those wonderful folks like them who formulate and publish these infrequent little fixes that keep our cute little Puppy the best Linux release since the advent of canned beer. Or sliced bread. Or something.
Puppy's innumerable Sahib Sirs and Memsahib Madams help to keep Puppy Linux on the forefront of Linux usability. Which is one more reason why Puppy Linux is growing: Our cute little Puppy works, no matter what.
Puppy works, no matter what. Think about it.
Hail Puppy!

actually, i don't think the "bugfix" to the path to realplayer codecs in /root/.gxine/config is necessary
it was reported that Puppy 1.0.7 had the same problem with realplayer that Puppy 1.0.5 had ... so i just copied the bugfix to SP107
but i don't think the newer versions of gxine requires the realplayer path to be set ... the default path seems to work ok, on my machine
in fact, Puppy 1.0.7 seems to be replacing the /root/.gxine/config file with the default file from image.gz, probably every time Puppy boots, which un-does the bugfix and the realplayer path is no longer explicitly configured ... but it still seems to work properly
but this probably means that changing gxine's configuration will not be "saved" between reboots ... which would be a different bug
so i think the version of gxine in Puppy 1.0.7 seems to work properly with the default realplayer path, and actually does not need the realplayer-path bugfix
the bugfix should be harmless anyway ... just unnecessary
