I am not complaing, just experimenting, and post this for general information:

I have attempted to see if this older scanner will function under Puppy with SANE backend drivers and the XSANE GUI frontend interface.

I activated the what I believe to be the appropriate lines in dll.conf and mustek_pp.conf files.

The XSane activates but it says not device detected. I unplugged and replugged the cables. Checked my power adaptor to the scanner to make sure it was functioning. But no luck.

Anyone had any experience with this partcular scanner.

Or has successfully installed a Scanner under SANE. If so perhaps I will search for a used version of a workable scanner.

I have Pentium III, 256 MB, 40 MB hard drive.
