Opera 10 BETA 1 (b4402 / Qt 4.5.1) *NEW*

#1 Post by synth »

*** Customized shared build with the latest Qt (4.5.1) libs ***
[Jun 2, 2009]

Extra stuff included: the good old 'Opera Classic' skin, adblock filters and a working desktop shortcut :)

What's new:
---------------
- .PET updated to the latest BETA build (May 2, 2009)
- Improved Turbo Mode
- Visual Tabs and a much better Speed Dial
- Improved web page compatibility
- Bugfixes and improved stability

To create a desktop shortcut, open the ROX filer, browse to /root/opera10beta/ and drag the 'startopera' script to the desktop. Then set an icon (use the 48px icon in /root/opera/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/opera.png )

Download:
http://stashbox.org/534881/opera10turbo ... 1-i486.pet
(Stripped package - only 11.2 MiB)

MD5: a72677966502df65543ddd36092e6acc

and enjoy :D

I had a feeling you were going to do this :0 Good job , which version of qt is it using and maybe which qt libs are included?
also do you have a QT package minus these libs say like a addon pack?

Once I made system links to from the opera directory libs to /usr/lib it was much faster, the package just needs a bit of work. sure it works out of the box, but most wouldn't want to configure all those fonts.
its easier when people like us do it for them, I do it with every browser release I make.

???

They're in /root/opera/usr/lib/opera/10.00/

If you'd like to use Opera with the new Qt 4.4.2 package, just remove the two Qt4 libs from the opera directory and install the Qt package.

look in /root/opera/usr/lib/opera/10.00/

If you want the full Qt bundle, just remove (delete) the two Qt4 libs from this directory and install the Qt 4.4.2 package.
problem was the directory, I system linked the libs to usr/lib and now its found when I use ldd

Replace the old (4.4.0) libs with those from the updated Qt package and see if there's an improvement in the overall performance.

Oh yes, fast, using spup.. should have mentioned that. I haven't tried from term so I don't know if I have missing libs, but by the way it is performing I don't think I have.... :)

download 30 skins 8.9MB

http://depositfiles.com/en/files/9fki3bcf7

once you download the skins, extract them to
/root/opera/profile/skin/
then you'll have 2 more zip files, extract them also into that folder, then set your skins under /tools/appearance

I liked the bottom one the best, but it needs some tweaking on the top nav font, white text, white background

When I download from above link I get opera10_qt4-i386-b4205.gz which extracts to opera10_qt4-i386-b4205. What do I do with this? :?

Thanks, J

Good things come from randomly poking about in the business of your favorite puplet developer: I see you keep on Synth-isizing more nice stuff! :)
Uh oh, looks like there's a lot of work involved with this one (what's all this about system links?). Can I just download that pet, click (or double-click in turbopup, yay! double the fun! ;) ) and expect it to work? Or would one be required to do all the shortcut/icon/symlink/Qt-upgrade/install-script stuff? :D

If so, can I just wait for it to be included in alpha 4 of you-know-what? :D slowdownbar is great. :) But it's still not slow, so I guess it's not doing its job? JK! Oops, a bit OT there.

Just download the pet and try it.... I'm using spup, from woof, works fine for me OOTB  . I think ttuuxxx is using dpup from woof.... should be ok in 4.2, even 4.1.2

Cheers

Rename the .gz file to .pet and install it.
