Yes thats a great point, good call, That page would be easy to fixsteve_s wrote:this is a minor thing but needs to be noted.
i just started up rc4 and tried to view it from the eyes of someone brand new to linux coming from windows...this is tough to do but is necessary for a new distro especially in these times. We are going to have a lot more Windows refugees coming over than ever before..
Anyway, on the very first help page that you click on at startup it has the html firstboot page that comes up...
On that page, one thing it says is, "When you get online, the web browser home page has many more links." Well, the home page is Google.
I know that line is designed for the last home page and the one listed in the /usr/share/docs area as home, right? I actually prefer google myself, but for those that are just coming over and are trying to follow instructions, that may be confusing...
I'll continue to check...
Naaa I tossed that help link out of IceWM way back, it makes the menu taller which is a pain fo small laptops, plus I figured they had to use JWM first to get to Icewm so they probably already seen the help page, link etc.steve_s wrote:...to continue with my previous post, the firstboot page also says, "Lots of local help is available -- select 'Help' in the menu (see left side of taskbar). The local Help page also has the Release Notes for this version of Puppy -- well worth checking out!"
I'm right now using icewm and there is no "help" area on the menu...
**Edit: perhaps just direct them to the Help icon via this page?
I wondered about that...that seems logical.ttuuxxx wrote:Naaa I tossed that help link out of IceWM way back, it makes the menu taller which is a pain fo small laptops, plus I figured they had to use JWM first to get to Icewm so they probably already seen the help page, link etc.steve_s wrote:...to continue with my previous post, the firstboot page also says, "Lots of local help is available -- select 'Help' in the menu (see left side of taskbar). In the past series 3 during remasters we had a very similar problem with the backdrop image also.steve_s wrote:...wonder if that is related to one of my previous posts about the same error message...FredL wrote:Hi,

I'm unable to watch vod on http://www.france5.fr/videos/
When i try to listen http://players.tv-radio.com/radiofrance ... einter.php a gxine window open...
But if i upgrade gxine to version v0.5.11 and install the xine plugin from official puppy 4 repository, all 's working fine ...
I love your distro and i use it since the beginning.
I love the mind open source.
I use Debian at home and at office. Puppy is for me a fantastic tool that i alway keep in my pocket like a swiss knife.
