I have Puppy (frugal) on a Presario 1500 and an IBM 2373.
The Presario does not save the following settings between sessions, but the IBM does:
- Which X server to use (I use Xorg)
- Console resolution
- Network setup (some settings are sometimes saved, others not)
- Touchpad tapping (should be enabled)
Why is there such a difference between the two PCs? Can I manually write those settings into some file - where?
It's kind of annoying to enter all these things again after every reboot.
Greetings,
Frank
Where to save settings?
Problem solved (kind of):
I figured out that on the Presario, Xorg (which otherwise workd fine) overrides the abovementioned settings with defaults on every boot. Xvesa doesn't, so I'm using that now.
The question remains: Why is there such a weird difference between the same software run on different hardware???
