PCP - Puppy Control Panel Subject description: first rc on 8 March 2009 |

Here is a new control panel from scratch with more options, simplified t wording as much as possible and descriptions for each option.
Try it out - it was designed for 4.2 but I think its too late to get it in. Hopefully it works ok with other Puppies???

ptray is not installed by default until 4.2 (not sure about pcursor) - any suggestions for a replacement program(s) in 4.1.x series?

Yes, ptray and pcursor are new for Puppy-4.2, although both may be backward compatible.

the icons for browsing and video dont appear in my install of puppy 4.00
also the plugging, gParted, antivirus and cursors buttons dont work.
great idea though, i always thought when i first started using puppy that a control panel type program would be useful

I don't have 4.0 but it is a user editable file ... /usr/sbin/pcp
executables are for example <action>xfprot &</action>
icons... <input file>/usr/local/lib/X11/mini-icons/mini-x.xpm</input>
More icons are located in /usr/local/lib/X11/mini-icons
Plugging = /usr/sbin/eventmanager (hotplug in 4.0??)
Gparted = /usr/sbin/gparted_shell (maybe change to gparted??)
antivirus = /usr/local/bin/xfprot (was it just fprot??)
you could either download pcursors from the forum or replace it with whatever 4.0 program you like or just delete the entry (from <frame... to ...</frame>)
p.s. I did make an attempt to figure out how to do mouse-over for the info dialogs but to no avail .... maybe a single help dialog would be more visually appealing??

So far so good

It would be
A list of icons with an explanation
Most people will just click to see what the option does - no help needed
Try contacting zigbert to see if he can suggest anything
