Well I thought i'd post my results on puppy4.2rc1 running on a lowish spec comp..
the specs i can give you:
-350mhz intel cpu
-256meg ram
-64meg video card
-20gig hd
-cd drive
-OPAL3 sound
unfortunetly gxine failed so i loaded vlc-8.0.6c that mibbit and i had been playing around with from version4.0..

No ttuuxxx i havent tried the vlc-h version...
if its the 1 i think it is (based off the ffmpeg)
which i think gxine is also based on
then for some older hardware (old legacy) it doesnt work real well..
example i have to 350mhz machines
1 is intel as in this post the other is an ibm 300PL
the gxine audio works on the ibm but not on the intel at all
the gxine video works on the ibm (with jitters) but not on the intel at all
the vlc-c however based with the sdl pkg set works on both
the other thing to note is that the ibm 300PL only has 128meg ram the intel has 256...
will be posting some pics some soon of the ibm 300PL..
