Wine fonts tweak |
|
Dear Puppians,
If you want your Wine fonts to look better - i.e. like the rest of your GTK/KDE fonts - try importing the attached registry file into Wine's user.reg by means of regedit. Launch regedit (wine regedit.exe), go to Registry->Import registry file and locate the attachment (wine-font-smoothing.reg), after unpacking it. By default, Wine does not contain these keys in the registry, which are needed to display fonts attractively.
I have also attached a screenshot of Wine, KDE and GTK apps running on my machine. The basically look the same, thanks similar KDE, GTK and Wine themes.
With kind regards,
vovchik

Many, many thanks! The difference is amazing, especially in Word 97. Had I not found your download, I would've gone back to OpenOffice.
Thanks again,
Jake
