Thanks for update and cute gui...you beat me to it :D

For the gui would it be worth having a selection box for file type flv/wmv/mp4 etc....saying that I tried and downloaded wmv from you tube but inside the format was still flv but had the advantage of wmv indexing and previously I was apparently getting mp4 from youtube ...with that I went crosseyed.

regards

Maybe in future version being able to download live audio/vidio streams like asx or m3u etc ? Would make a great replacement for streamripper and maybe a great addon for streamtuner due to the size and excellent support :) It would need a start and stop button.

When I was experimenting with bash/wget/gtkdialog I included a 'play with media player as you download' tickbox for convenience to beat those flash jitters :)

@ ttuuxxx
maybe it could sometimes do my houseworks but i don't think so. it's a nice little tools that does download videos. if it does much more it probably wouldn't be that nice little tool. we'll see.

and yes trapster it won't be able to replace streamripper. and why, there is already streamripper!

@ mike
my skills are very poor, but the idea for the gui was to support more features of the cli-client. but therefore i have to understand gtkdialog...and this takes some time.

Hmm I merged the gui with my version of wget front end.....not quite sure were to take this....

But in the meantime cclive is now at version 3.1 with some major changes and fixes for google video....any chance of an update for this very useful utility (or is it easy to complie?)

Hey mike

The pet is only 18kb in size, I don't think its too difficult to compile, lol If it was a 10MB vlc package I would say yes.
Just having some fun,

Nope failed...it wants libcurl.so.4.1.0 which I could only find with ssl support which then requires a host of extra libraries...getting silly I thought.....unless theres a non ssl libcurl.so.4.1.0 floating around.

Murphy's Law time

Thanks Aragon.

So the libcurl is a bit of a sticking point.
I think the developer is using it for extra functions rather than ssl.
I looked at the sources but many commands such as easy_curl_xxx were being called needing the newer version.

And clive needs python......blah

mike

edit...could compiling libcurl.so.4.1.0 without ssl support be a possibility...might be useful for other apps..just a thought
