Puppy Linux 3.02CE Chihuahua Beta 1.

#1 Post by J-Bob »

After fixing various bugs and working on various things, we have our first beta released.

This should hopefully be stable enough for regular home use, but not for business.

You can download it here.

J-Bob,

I just wanted to say how pleased I am at the progress on this puppy. It's nice and small and doesn't have a lot of stuff that I don't use. (Although it still carries a small payload of worthless dross! Just my opinion which typically doesn't count for much. :) ) I downloaded the beta and did a few quick tests. I didn't have a lot of time to put it through it's paces, but I hope to give it a better test this weekend.

The one problem I found was that I wasn't able to install a working version of Opera. I didn't do any real trouble shooting on the issue, but will try again this weekend.

Firefox installed with no problem.

I'm interested in hooking up an open office sfs and putting SCIM on board for Japanese. As a 3.xx version I'm expecting this to all work smoothly. This weekend should be fun.

Hi J-Bob,

I see you are now from Venezuela..hmm..you told me you were from a Canadian Maritime province and that you were a young tad and a geek..that may be, but I will not allow misdirection on my server.

Your account and all your files have been deleted..I don't like to be suckered.

Don't ask again for help as I will ban your IP permanently.

Bye,
Eric

Hi..just tried your new pup. I have always liked the 3.xx series, but have encountered a problem with ndis not being found. Tried the Oct 16 patches with no success. Tried looking for the old wizard in sbin but it is gone. Has anyony else had this problem or posted a solution as I don't like the use of UBANTU to base puppy on . Also ,the 3.xx series seems to be more stable on older equiptment than the 4.xx
Thanks Stray
