Hello All;
I would like to propose that we either dedicate a section of the PLDP to listing dotpups, or create a thread in the forum to list dotpups. I am amazed at how many pups are out there that do not show up in the Dotpup package installer.
Why not have an area where we list them all. All of our members could email a short blurb about the pup and a link to the download location to one person who would be responsible for maintaining it ( I volunteer). That way you could browse through the list and find pups that interest them. Maybe the maintainer could also have to ability to add them to the Dotpup installer (don't know if this is possible or not).
My preference would be a thread in the forum, that only the maintainer could post to, that would keep the list under control.
Any thoughts on this?

Would the Index of Additional Software sticky post be anything like what you mean? If so, I'd be glad to give its care over to you.
You can post them hereWhy not have an area where we list them all.

puppian, things Puppy are being scattered to sites all over. Wouldn't you think that if a list of dotpups (ideally in html so each item can be linked to its download site) isn't to be kept with the dotpups themselves (is there a single repository for all dotpups?) the next the best place for it is somewhere in this forum?
This forum is of course the best place to keep the list and I think the sticky post is doing a great job
Maybe people like mayakovski who want to help keep things update can reply to the sticky thread, with each post for a different category of dotpup for example. Then the post can be edited and add new dotpups later on.
The forum I set up is not for this listing purpose actually not much maintainence is needed to keep things there update thou, since people who post their dotpup there will help keep things organized by choosing an appropriate sub-forum when posting.

Listing at the CMS
The CMS at puppylinux.org has a page for downloads/dotpups. Mayakovski can get started by registering there and filling in the pages...
EDIT for J_rey: Good point - perhaps ony the must-have for beginners should be in the CMS.

What about the wiki pages?!?!?
Isn't the existing DotPup wiki pages already doing what y'all suggested (i.e. easy collaboration for maintaining the lists; with a title, description, home page URL, and download URL)?

We have to to coordinate with others (i.e. GuestToo/G2, MU, and others) about potential changes with handling/listing DotPups. This would need to be discussed in a non-private forum, if the need is still perceived. The DotPup Downloader uses the above wiki pages for listing the .pup files available. The reason why some DotPups aren't listed are that someone probably incorrectly changed the formatting so that the DotPup Downloader doesn't parse the list(s) properly.
