Aqualung Music Player

#1 Post by aragon »

Home: http://aqualung.factorial.hu/
Version: 0.9 (SVN 1082 + 1109)
Aqualung is an advanced music player originally targeted at the GNU/Linux operating system, today also running on FreeBSD, OpenBSD and Microsoft Windows. It plays audio CDs, internet radio streams and podcasts as well as soundfiles in just about any audio format and has the feature of inserting no gaps between adjacent tracks.
SVN 1082: Compiled and tested in Puppy 4.21. On 4.21 no additional lib is needed.

SVN 1109: Compiled and tested in Puppy 4.31. On 4.31 no additional lib is needed. This version may not work on older puppies (due to a different gtk-version).

cheers

I like this program. I've never seen it before so thanks for posting it. I just compiled it myself with some more options (ladspa plugins & samplerate conversion).

Aqualung won't run if ...

Code: Select all

sh-3.00# aqualung 01.1A.mp3
No output driver specified, probing for a usable driver.
Probing ALSA driver... OK
Input file's samplerate (48000 Hz) and output samplerate (44100 Hz) differ, and
Aqualung is compiled without Sample Rate Converter support. To play this file,
you have to build Aqualung with internal Sample Rate Converter support,
or set the playback sample rate to match the file's sample rate.

We know that .mp3 is encoded with many samplerates. Please recompile aqualung with "Sample Rate Converter support"...

Thanks for this Aragon- I've been looking for a good music player that includes FLAC support and this works like a dream!

I don't know what NLS means.

What are the differences between the NLS and non-NLS versions posted here?

NLS means it comes with other languages.

nearby....

NLS-pets are usually the language-files for other languages than (the default) english. they don't contain the apps/libs only the language files.
