Note there already is a (smaller) Fluxbox-Dotpup by GuestToo in the Wiki.
This one here has xinerama and imlib2-support (with imlib you can install more themes).
First install imlib2, if you did not do already (it is used by several Dotpups like the Tablaunch-Iconbar).
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Libraries/imlib2.pup (723 kb)
Then install Fluxbox:
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/WindowManager ... 0.9.14.pup (1.12 MB)
Now exit X (hit CTRL-ALT-Backspace) and type
xwin startfluxbox
Also install this Dotpup, to get the Puppy-Menus:
http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.php?t=4343
I hope I forgot no files.
If you are new to Puppy, wait until experienced users report success!
This version was compiled without "nls" (native language support), as I got errors with that.
My Dotpup uses the "Aqua"-Theme by default.
It might not look good without shadows, so you can change it with a right-click on your Desktop (Fluxbox - Styles).

Seems to work OK - running it now
followed the instructions
but did not bother reading this
- then went into prompt and typed xwin fluxbox (that worked)
Does this use the XDG from rarsa? I found the menu confusing (I am assuming that is a work in progress) for new users I would use G2's fluxbox dotpup for exploring fluxbox (very minimal very different - very good)
Seems to have a lot of KDE support . . .
Nice Mark - be interested how others get on . . .

MU,
Thanks, for me fluxbox is running much smoother than icewm. Fluxbox has been the choice of many small distros eg DSL, feather linux, slax light weight. If we can have a fully functional menu it would be great. I think while browsing I have read about a menumaker for flux that can autogenerate menus for flux.

link to menumaker - an app written in python that can use .desktop files to generate a menu for flux and many other wm's.
http://menumaker.sourceforge.net/
EDIT 1: memumaker written in python. is there some way to compile it such that we dont need the whole of python to run it.
EDIT 2: benefits - all kde apps already have .desktop files. using rarsa's puppy xdg.pup .desktop for all puppy apps are created. Use menumaker to make a uniform menu for all menumaker supported wm's (ie icewm, fluxbox, blackbox, openbox, xfce). of particular importance to us icewm & flux both of which we are trying as probable candidates for KDE puppy.
EDIT 3: and tis link will prvoide all info on how to create stand alone apps from python scripts

Jcagle, I had no closer look to the configuration yet, but you might find something here:

ok, here's the closest thing I can come to this
edit /root/.fluxbox/keys
Chang the Mod1 F9 line's command. Delete the workspace stuff there and type "ExecCommand /usr/local/expose2.4/expose2now"
Unfortunately, this means you have to hit "Alt + F9". Mod1 = Alt, and unfortonately Fluxbox will not let you do "F9" just by itself. Maybe that's to avoid conflicts with other programs that may use F9 for something else.
expose2now runs kind of funny too. Sometimes it will require a few clicks to get to the window you want. It actually seems to be running fine now, but I had trouble with it earlier.

I tried menumaker. It works flawlessly. All the .desktop files created by puppy-xdg in /usr/share/applications and /usr/share/applnk are recognised and the xdg menu-structure in reproduced for flux box. To get kde apps in the menu I had to move /opt/kde/share/application and /opt/kde/share/applnk to the above folders. However after doing that the menu is a mix of kde + puppy (way to large in some sections to to the number of apps ). Can somebody figure out a way to add kde apps in a seperate heading called 'KDE menu' in the flux menu.
Same also works for icewm.

This works great, thanks. Perhaps add it to the wiki as a stable dotpup.
I'll just add: I know there's ongoing discussion about the best WM. Most of us like to experiment and we all have personal preferences.
I like IceWM, but I'd like to comment that Firefox presents better for me in Fluxbox than any other WM in Puppy. Everything looks so neat, without any effort on my part.
I tried XFCE and the default fonts and sizes needed serious tweaking.
