@gray - thanks for another nice puplet!
Think NOP still may be my fav!
Have installed Boxpup 4.1.2 and/or even NOP 4.1 as full installs.
Neither (nor does Puppy 4.1) allow the system to boot into linux.
Install goes just fine, grub config runs using default, all appears alright.
When booting grub displays, linux is first, hitting enter does not work.
Here is the menu: # GRUB configuration file '/boot/grub/menu.lst'.
# generated by 'grubconfig'. Sat Dec 20 17:30:21 2008
#
# Start GRUB global section
#timeout 30
color light-gray/blue black/light-gray
# End GRUB global section
# Linux bootable partition config begins
title Linux (on /dev/sda1)
root (hd0,0)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/sda1 ro vga=normal
# Linux bootable partition config ends
title Install GRUB to floppy disk (on /dev/fd0)
pause Insert a formatted floppy disk and press enter.
root (hd0,0)
setup (fd0)
pause Press enter to continue.
title Install GRUB to Linux partition (on /dev/sda1)
root (hd0,0)
setup (hd0,0)
pause Press enter to continue.
title - For help press 'c', then type: 'help'
root (hd0)
title - For usage examples, type: 'cat /boot/grub/usage.txt'
root (hd0)
Don't grasp grub, etc but did look at the menu list file to see anything (something) that would stand out.
Any ideas? Would greatly appreciate some help.
Want to install NOP preferred.
Thank all,
linuxblues

Grub Boot Issues (FIXED)
Following catdude's full install video helped to get me up and going.
The main differences: setting up a swap partition, flagging hda1/sda1 as "boot" and installing grub to MBR.
Though I have not had trouble installing Puppy 4 in the past I have not used a swap partition, flagged main drive as "boot" or setup grub on MBR.
Former full installs using entire drive with no swap, drive unflagged and grub to root hda have always worked.
But no matter 4.1.2 NOP is up and running today.
@catdude - thanks for the video it helped!
