This is the same idea from the post "Puppy Term. Server", except
the idea is applicable to ANY of the Puppy distros, CD, HD, USB, etc.

With lots of different cram_fs files, micro sizes for business card CDs,
mini CD sizes, full CD sizes, & huge DVD size.
Hard drive, USB, & flash could make use of any of them.
That way it would be easy to make a custom Puppy to fit almost any
set of applications & media size, just use the cram_fs file you need.

A boot menu could show different cram_fs files that are available on
ANY of the mounted file sys., & have Puppy try them all, local & net.
The boot menu could have popup info gotten from each cram_fs file,
about what apps each cram file has in it, so that even custom made
cram files would show info about their apps. making selection easy.

Whatcha think guys, does this open up a whole new realm of ideas?

couple that with the ability to compress up a /root/.usr into a new additional usr_cram.fs
hehehe Smile
There might be issues about the amount of ram you'll need with several usr_cram.fs files, but sounds like a great way to add on a bundle of associated programs, like say a development base, or graphic editing suite, or perhaps Open Office...
I think this idea has some merrit to it Smile
