Mirror sites for downloading PETs ??

#1 Post by lagagnon »

Given that the puppylinux.ca site has now exceeded its bandwidth limit for the month (you will get a concurrent bandwidth download error) are there any other mirror sites for downloading extra PET packages?

I am particularly interested in Java, Wine and Frostwire as I am trying to finish off a remastered Puppy for a charity that donates refurbished computers.

Thanks for any help....

Larry

The best way to do it is to ask the contributors of the packages individually to supply you with the packages, They still can download and upload via ftp /filezilla. But not html. I'm using my account right now on puppylinux.ca.

Mirror sites for downloading PETs ??

Folks i am just loving how simple, powerful and fast puppy is on old and new hardware. I am trying to install the NVIDIA 177 drivers for my mainboard so i can get 1650x1050 resolution on my monitor. However i to have problems with the puppylinux.ca html download saying "Concurrent downloads exceeded". Can anyone offer help? How easy is it to build the driver yourself in puppy? I am guessing you need the kernel source and c++/c compilers installed and the source install from Nvidia. Perhaps i would be easier joining puppylinux.ca and using ftp?

Thanks for any help, i am a linux ethusiast based over in Glasgow, Scotland.

There are lots of mirrors for puppy software. Go to http://www.puppylinux.org/ and you will see. You will also find the devx_'xxx'.sfs files which you need for compiling. (match 'xxx' with your puppy version). I'm sure you'll figure it out, that's half the fun!
