LFTP sophisticated ftp/http client Puppy 4.0+

#1 Post by ttuuxxx »

I was at a site which had lots of ftp clients sources so I downloaded a few and compiled them, This one stood out the most, It has lots of features including bookmarks. The latest version compiled with a error so This is the second latest version without any errors which is always good :)
to use it open a terminal, hint *** if you open a terminal on any hard drive it will automatically save the file where your open the terminal, if you open the terminal on your desktop via the "console" icon, it will save to /root
if you have the thumb drive folder page open and you right click and select window/ "terminal here" it will be save in your thumb drive, etc

to use it, open console and type lftpget URL
example

lftpget http://www.puppylinux.ca/puppyfiles/pet ... .0.4-2.pet

more advanced options can be found @
http://tutorials.papamike.ca/pub/lftp.html

enjoy :)

Qterminal

#2 Post by Firefox »

Hi Thuuxx

I`m after a terminal like the one in the picture above Q-terminal with black background green typfaces and a nice font. It`s so much easier on the eyes. Have you got a pet of this setup for 411?. And if so could you post a link.
Thanks

I had a pet for it but I deleted it, Well I was going to release it, But you need to have QT installed, which puppy doesn't have the whole package installed, so this terminal would be around 6-7MB lol
but try this one, it has tabs and copy and paste functions via the mouse etc, you can change the colours and even the backgrounds, If you really want a pet package for qterminal, I could package it up. But I do like this one better

@ttuuxxx

IIRC, Gekkko provided an LFTP pet a year or more ago.

@Firefox

You don't need a different terminal program - you can configure rxvt to display that way. http://linux.die.net/man/1/rxvt

here's the Qterminal as shown above :)
you'll probably need the devx package installed and also from the puppy package manager the extra Qt libs, anyways maybe installed it and report back whats missing, I could package up the extras if you really want it.

QTerminal

#7 Post by Firefox »

Thanks Thuuxxx and Alienjeff
The Qterminal works okay in 411. I had downloaded QT4.4 first.
When I type ls the directories always come up blue. I want them a slightly brighter green than the rest of the text. Anyway to do this? it seams to be the same in many terminals, or is the problem with bash.

If you install Sakura from http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=29788
you can change the font colour to any that you choose, heck it has a colour wheel. :) and works with puppy 4.1
