Hi,
sorry, I cannot find out, how to add program icons to the Puppy Linux Desktop.
I use version 4.00 of Puppy.

Thank you for help.
Best regards

Hi Ferdinand,

using ROX file manager you can drag into the desktop the icon program you need.

ROX is the default file manager for puppy, you can click the icon at the top left of the desktop.

Please, try it, and give me a feedback.

regards,
fausto

If you've dragged an executable program onto the desktop, if you right-click the program, & select Set Icon, then you can drag any icon onto the pop-up.

Hi,
thank you for your tipp and please excuse me for the long time that has passed since I asked that question.

Now I am able to add programs to the desktop and also change the icons. I found the place, where icons can be found: /usr/local/lib/X11

Is there a way to configure the desktop using a configuration file? I did not find a file, where the desktop is configured. Or can you tell me, where the desktop is saved in Puppy linux?
