HSF modem driver: how to keep in the live CD ? (SOLVED)

#1 Post by heri »

Hi, I'm a new comer here using Puppy 1.0.6

The HSF modem driver works great without any problem.

This is really another great feature and selling point of the Mighty Puppy when I show it off to my friends.
You know, usually their jaw will drop and: "50 MB ? How can they do this ..... " :)

So, is there any way to put the driver in the CD, so some one can use it directly from the live cd ?

Tried with PizzaPup, it's not working (missing some library ?)

Will it work with Grafpup ?

Thank's again for the amazing distro !

You will need to remaster the cd with the hsf driver in it. There are a number of options available for remastering. These include the official Puppy Unleashed and PCCC (createpuppyonline) and a few other remaster scripts available on the forum. Puppy unleased requires you to download all of puppy's packages so you should prob. try one of the other options first.

Should work on grafpup also.

Yes , it works !

Using Alienx simple remaster CD, it's really very simple and easy.
It took only 15 minutes and now I have my own puppy live cd with HSF modem driver included.
The remaster also has a boot option now (1-5) which is IMHO better than the original CD (... sorry puppy) :)

Wow ! This is really amazing.

Note:
Somewhere during the process there was option whether or not to keep the hardware setting and I think I chose "yes".
I'll try with "no" and see what will happen.

Thank's again
