Printed book available

#1 Post by darrelljon »

A printed book is now available. It is a beginners manual for Puppy Linux 1-4. It is 50 printed pages long including table of contents and index. It is a overview and introduction rather than covering specific hardware problems.

I think it would be useful to prospective purchasers if you could give a bit more details about the level and detail of contents; for example the table of contents.

Dare I say it but DSL have a book available on for example Amazon and it's very easy to see just what you get for the price.

Also a downloadable version might be more attractive? There are plenty of ways of making sure the IP is protected.

Cheers
Dave

I've added a link to here in Flash's Index of resources for Beginners Help forum thread, and unstickied this one.

I agree. If I were considering buying this, I would very much like to have more idea about what's inside. The ToC would be a good easy way to do that.

Also, I'm just curious: who is in charge of all that Puppy merchandise on Cafepress?
I seriously doubt it makes any money worth noting. But if somebody buys the Puppy thong, I think Barry should at least get something out of that!

I suggested a Puppy Linux store a couple of times during the building of the new website but nobody acted on it so I started the Cafepress store myself. Hopefully it will given a much needed promotional boost to Puppy Linux.

Something smells fishy around here

Commercialization stinks. Literally and figuratively. And I have proof. Here's the beginning of the demise of Puppy Linux ...

Marketing suggestion: "Floss your cooter with a Puppy Linux thong"
