rz/sz (XModem/YModem/ZModem/etc handler) would be nice because then the included terminal programs (picocom/minicom at the moment) would actually be able to transfer files. They both even have the built-in options to use rz, but just don't do anything because the executables aren't there.
...I ran into the need for this trying to get NIC drivers onto an old Win95 laptop I received that didn't have any floppy/CD/modem/etc ability, so I figured I'd try using the IR port :) I don't need this anymore, but it'd still be a good idea to have rz/sz so that the terminal programs are fully usuable. :)
