Oh and another thing, I always have to use the network wizard to get a connection after a reboot (but that might be all connected to the same problem)

I still think Puppy is marvelous, and am paranoid enough to think that maybe it is a nooby issue, rather than something that seems to work for everybody else.javascript:emoticon('Smile')

I'm new to linux also. I have a belkin adapter that uses the rt73 driver. When I first tried to use the belkin, Puppy tried to assign the rt2570 driver to my adapter which caused my comp to freeze. I figured out how to blacklist the bad driver and the rt73 works fine now. I also tried the autoconnect program listed in this thread and if you follow the directions it works perfectly. I hope this helps someone. Make sure your driver module matches your adapter or you might freeze your comp.

Upgraded to Puppy 4.1.

Recognised the usb driver as zd1211rw and found the network OK. Entered the WPA key and online straight away.

Even saved the configuration on reboot.

Very Happy
