pmount

#1 Post by bert07 »

Statement: I do like puppy because its ability to rescue (can create or modify files) installed systems.

I have about 30 partitions on my computer.
pmount might recognize them all, but I do not "see" them all in pmount, and one can not scroll through the partition available.

A major setback, because in Puppy version 4.0 Puppy does not recognize my swap partition on sdb12.

Also I can not mount partitions after sdb3 because pmount does not show them on screen (1024) and (again) the program can not scroll through the available partitions.

pmount is a very beautiful program, and highly appreciated here, (It is great, really.) but it is probably not designed for a computer with a lot of partitions. (I have 2 times 15.)

Can the developer of pmount please change this (minor (?)) setback (bug).

The Pmount is 4.1 has a tabbed interface (switchable between single window and tabbed) but it shows all internal hd's in one tab so probably still not good enough for you ...I should consider putting each hd in its own tab.

Anyway, the Pmount in 4.1 is not suitable for earlier puppies, so go for zigbert's solution.

A tab for each HD would solve this issue. Mind you: so does being able to scroll through pmount.

It is a very handy program though. Should be available in all distro's (grin).
