Unable to access network with Broadcom ‎BCM4401-B0
Hi.
I downloaded Puppy 1.0.6 and accessed the network setup wizard. The wizard identified the driver needed (B44). But it keeps telling me that my network cable is unplugged. I can access the network in PCLinuxOS and Windows XP, so that's not true. I did an autoprobe and let it choose several drivers, none of which workss.
I booted up the LiveCD PCLinuxOS and checked what driver it was using for my network card, as it works well. Yep, it's B44, the same as Puppy. What must I do to get it to work? Thanks in advance.
I have a Dell 9200 with 1.2gb RAM and a Broadcom BCM4401-B0 100Base-TX card.

There is a Linux driver for the BCM4401 on Broadcom's website which is better than the standard b44 driver -
www.broadcom.com/drivers/downloaddrivers.php
You will need to compile it.

Thanks for the reply
My next task will be to figure out (a) how the hell to compile it, and (b) how the hell to install it. I'll poke around the forum and other places for a while to see if I can figure it out before crying help. Thanks.
