yes, is powerful but in linux version it seems not able to create multipage file directly in pdf format, only tiff

windows version can create multipage pdf file directly but windows version is not free for commercial use (only private)
replace .co.cc with .info to get access to stuff I posted in forum
dropbox 2GB free
OpenOffice for Puppy Linux

Dingo

in the "P" list of possible formats for conversion I posted above with images
there is no PDF format listed

yes this is the free version and yes this is the linux version as a sample if you want to
have a commercial version thats fine .I cant use a commercial version as a .pet
and use it in GNU linux its been quite awhile since I used windows programs but I remember one of my favorites was http://www.irfanview.com/
if you need a powerful free windows program (I wish it was for linux too)

I do hope this can be useful to you converting another format that was listed above
if you do have any problems converting formats that are listed please let me know

try this whenever downloads are not working well
open console an paste this in dark blue

wget -c http://ttuuxxx.com/bigbass/XnView-1.70.pet

if you have cable sometimes re running the connection wizard improves speed
if it is still slow I will ask caneri for a temp upload area at puppylinux.ca

Looks like this in the terminal I just tested the download

# wget -c http://ttuuxxx.com/bigbass/XnView-1.70.pet

Thanks, I already got it downloaded.
Now I need libXp.so.6 or later, and am having difficulty locating it.
It is not in ttuuxxx libs, sourceforge gives unclear directions, RPMs availabe but dependent on C-version.

Would you be kind enough to give me a clue (to its location) please?
And any other lib that xnview may require.

Koolie,

on my p2.16 the library is /usr/X11R7/lib/libXp.so.6.2.0. Maybe you just need to create a symlink?

@muggins,

Now why would you think that I was running P2.16?
I'll have a look for it on P2.17 (I dont have 2.16).

I probably should have stated that I am running P4.00, and so,
presumably, anyone wanting to run this on P4.00 will also need the extra lib(s).

Cheers.

Koolie,

actually I wasn't assuming you had 2.16...just bad phraseology on my part! I've edited it to read on my p2.16.... I was just suggesting, as a possibility, that the parent library could be lurking in /usr/X11R7/lib, with whichever version you're using, sans a symlink.

I you wanted to try the p2.16 version, I've attached it. Some times these libraries work fine with different kernel version, sometimes not...

LOL
You are too efficient.
I was just going to edit my last post, but you beat me to it again.

I grabbed the X11R7 libs from 2.17, and copied all the missing ones to 4.00.
XNview works fine.

Which is OK for me, but others wanting only the nessessary libs still don't have the answer.
I couldn't be bothered copying libs, 1by1, to determine which were needed.

It.s been raining katzndogz here today, which is how I have had some time to play with this, but now the rain has gone, I better get back to work.

Cheers.

Thanks prit1 8)

life is full of problems
and full of opportunities and solutions too

ouch forgot to test in version 4.00
well....taken care of now

fix for version 4.00 users not needed for version 3.01
http://www.ttuuxxx.com/bigbass/libXpso6-patch-4.00.pet

thanks muggins I also added the libs to X11R6 in the pet
Note even if you un install the Xnview viewer in puppy 4.00 you should leave the
libXpso6 patch its a needed lib that fixes puppy 4.00

so you could just use it as a stand alone patch too

Hello.

Sorry for the revival but I have a small problem related to this program. I installed it and there was no problem. In fact, there are no ones until I try to read an animated gif group. They are read too quickly (except for the first of the group). I supposed I would have to reduce the frame per second rate but I can't find where I can change that.

Could you help me please ? :3

Thanks

Hi,
many thanks for that usefull pet !! (I used it on puppy-4.1.2)
on both pup431 - full or small versions - , frugal installation,
I got
«error package XnView-1.70-version4.00.pet failed to install»
message from the Puppy Package Manager;
ans also the same message with XnView-1.70.pet.

Can this be fixed ?

Cheers
Charlie

Hi big_bass, it works on puppies4.31 (puppy4.31). I only had to correct the "category" of xnview.desktop to "presentation", in order to make it appear under the Graphics section.
Thanks! :)
