Hama USB wireless

Hello,
just got the new puppy 4.0. Great! Love it and connecting is a breeze.....except with wireless!

I used connection wizard and roaring penguine to establish DSL connection with cable. Worked flawlessly.

Then I inserted my Hama USB wireless (RT73 chip).
Connection wizard also recognized it - no problem!
Configured with WEP key - connection successfull!

So why doesn't the browser access internet ?(not found etc.)
When I use the Wifi tool (scan for active wifi networks)
it comes up with "not connected"!

Am I missing something fundamental here?
Or are darker forces at work?

p.s. I know the Hama USB works because it worked with windows (blech! scheiß windows!!)

Please help!
Wanna go wireless, then I can completely diss windows!!
