While try to get this pet file, I get:

Not Found
The requested URL /bugs/azureus-3.0.5.0.pet was not found on this server

And other files on this web site, too.

Hi there

I installed the latest Java and checked that it does indeed work in SeaMonkey.

I downloaded this package and installed it. I restarted X. I get Azureus in my internet menu with an icon but clicking it does nothing.

Can anyone offer some suggestions to get it working please?

Thanks in advance Smile

first try running it via command line
The thing about Java is well you can install it from the site and it will work with your browser, But to make it work with your installed program files eg. Azureus you need to have system links. Most of the java.pet packages already have this done for you.

Hey man thanks for the reply. I did install java the hard way (so to speak) by following a guide in this forum.

Given that java works in Seamonkey, could you point me in the right direction on how to run Azureus from the command line and how to set up system links? Are you referring to system links for the java package or for Azureus?

Sorry to sound a bit lost here but let me give you some background. I have an IBM X20 laptop (P3 600Mhz 192MB ram) that I initially installed Xubuntu 8.04.1 on. It worked really slow and painfull but was simple to set up. Puppy 4 runs sooo much better but I'm running into slightly more snags to get programs installed compared to Xubuntu.

I'm keen to learn how to get this going and have searched the forum but still don't really understand so any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated Smile

I have it working and trying to upload the java but the ftp account is down. So I'm trying one of those free ones,

first install this java
http://www.filefactory.com/file/d31e5b/n/jre1_6_0_11_pet
just select option 2 "Try FileFactory's Basic service"
» Download with FileFactory Basic

then install
http://www.filefactory.com/file/edaac8/n/BitTyrant_pet
I even made a menu icon under /menu/internet/BitTyrabt P2P Downloads
enjoy Wink

I personally wouldn't use it, Torrents are a way better p2p system, no-viruses 1 mb vs 42mb. I normally use www.isohunt.com as the search and Transmission yo download them Smile
