I installed, HDD, Puppy on a Compaq Armada 7800 (266mhz, 64m RAM).
It networks with a 3Com 3c562d PCMCIA, however, Puppy is loading module 3c589_cs.
It claims to be able to "see" the network, but my router is not seeing it.
I tried loading the correct driver using ndiswrapper, this file works in DSL & TinyFlux.
But Puppy barks out an "invalid driver" message.
I believe the system is trying to configure another NIC (eth1), thinking that eth0 is correctly configured.
How do I kill the kmod 3c589_cs so that I can load 3comnet1.inf into ndiswrapper?
EDIT:
OK got the kmod removed, however still getting "invalid driver" message.
The help file says there should be a *.cat file with the *.inf, DSL and TinyFlux required a *.sys file.
HD install loading wrong network module
Hi
I believe you need to add rmmod 3c589_cs to your rc.local file and reboot
Then load ndiswrapper or load it in the rc.local file, using the network wizard
There's probably a CLI way but I'm not that well versed
Try it - what's the worst that can happen
Here's a howto for a different wifi to show the steps

In the event something goes wrong, you will have to reboot with pfix=ram or pfix=purge at bootup, that's all
Aitch
