getpix photo retriever Sub_title: gui front end for gphoto
Attached is getpix version 1. It is a very simple Xdialog-based script that provides a gui front end for gphoto. It does not have a menu entry. It does require matching versions of gphoto and libgphoto. I used versions 2.1.6 from the pet_packages-3 repository.
You can run it from the command line or terminal by simply typing "getpix". However, it is made to run from within the photo viewer, gqview. To use it that way, open the "Editors" tab of gqview's Configuration menu and enter "Getpix" and "getpix" in a pair of the blank fields.
Now set gqview to the directory you want to upload pictures to. Then select the "Edit" menu and the "in Getpix" entry. Getpix will start. Set the upload directory in getpix to the directory gqview is looking at. Now your pictures will appear as thumbnails in gqview as getpix uploads them.
One word of caution: you must have at least one image in gqview's directory or it will not let you select editors from the Edit menu.
Please feel free to alter this script to suit your particular needs.
