Heh heh, I've never been renowned for my web page design!
Probably like my Citrus theme in Dingo, some will like it, some won't...

Note, only puppylinux.com moved over so far. goosee.com is still at Servage.

Also, not all pages at puppylinux.com updated, will keep working on it.

Right now I'm looking at blogs...

Oh yeah, Dingo 4.00beta... that has fallen back a bit due to all the work I had to put in archiving my old blogs, plus updating some web pages.

I'll post an estimated release date soon. Not long probably. I just need to make up a short list of stuff to do to get a better idea.

Your OK.

Needs improved download sites please Barry.
Some don't function.

I hope security is improved so that you can do what you do best...
improving Puppy.
In my downloads search today; there are more people than ever
following your progress and praising Puppy.

Suggestions....apologies if these have already been implemented.

Yes indeed nice and simple.
I immediately found an information about puppy's internal working in seconds. I have been looking for this info several times without success in the old structure.

Nice Puppy song as well. :)

Barry,

As the old sites are still high on the ranking, there are some problems with broken link. People Google to find the Puppy site.

Thisis an example of the complaint of a newbee.

It could harm the image of puppy.

As for me, I like much better the new site.

Well Béèm, we can but hope the beta at least is near . . .
People have already been using the Alpha as a general purpose operating system and as a base for puplets

As my psychiatirst kindly points out to me "Your whole life is a joke"
Which is either a slur on my character (of which I have very little)
or a profound insight into the nature of reality. Perhaps even both . . . :)

puppylinux.org redirected

#15 Post by raffy »

puppylinux.org is redirected for now to puppylinux.com.

Most of the discussions about the new .org site (under construction) have covered the problems of the old site. And Barry is quick to implement the new ideas. :)

I have no idea what's got into you, I also consider the following (which you sent to me privately), to be offensive and more aggravation than I need.

You take no security about this site making Barry look like a damn FOOL.
Shit or get off the NET!
So you have your first formal warning along with a one week ban so you can cool off, get back on you meds or whatever it is you need.

For the record the forum has never been compromised as such ... Sure, it crashed, and at times people have felt that moderators have been heavy handed... And we deal with heavy daily spam activity, but I have always done my best to protect the site.

Even if you where miss-informed your recent posts are abusive.

"bad links"

#17 Post by raffy »

This is quite funny - I found out this morning that the "bad URL" actually is about the old puppylinux.com download page. For simplicity, more recent downloads at puppylinux.org are pointed to this download page, but the URL for this page has been changed.

Many people have used this URL, even for donations, so I guess it will be good to keep it. Attached is a simple script to redirect it to the new page.

I was wondering what everyone was talking about, because the site looked the same to me. I suspect I must have been loading it from cache, because today it is different and all is revealed

My only comment is that the new front page looks more "anonymous". I liked the previous site's intro information (which showed you that you were at puppy's official page), and I liked seeing puppy's (real) face. No doubt all of the computer boffins aren't sooky over a chihuahua, so I'm probably alone there  . Otherwise, everything seems laid out more clearly than before and it looks good.

(The site puppylinux-foundation.com linked to seems strange to me - it says the domain may be for sale, and the links don't seem to be for "Puppy linux things"?).
