I also notice a Buddhapup puplet with the only
connection to Buddhism being the use of the Enlightenment Window manager

I actually knew the Buddha when he was a blade of grass
'You're milk', I said at the time (I was a cow) 8)

Meanwhile for the excitable . . .
remember the words of the original Jedi

' All phenomena are like;
A dream, an illusion, a bubble and a shadow;
Like dew and lightening flash;
Thus should you meditate upon them.'

I'm not trying to be a smart butt, and I don't mean to insult anyone. I'm genuinely confused.

Is this a serious project? If it is, what's it for? I could understand the need to sanctify and bless your hardware if you're running the big B's OS, but does a Linux box really need cleansing and divine approval to work well?

Please understand I know nothing about Buddhism. I was just curious.

Me too.
. . . it might be a human condition . . .

Is this a serious project?
Certainly not.

Perhaps if I explain it this way . . .
Everything that one interacts with, even ones method of interacting
is an extension of the self.
I do use Linux Tmxxine Vision as a focus of meditation.
A virtual shrine all set up is very inspiring (for me)
After all if a mere laptop without a hard drive can chant
and display images that are pleasing there must be hope for me . . .

Please understand I know nothing about Buddhism. I was just curious.
Knowing Nothing or No Thing is an exalted state in Buddhism.
Many of us aspire to it.

It is alluded to in this play "The importance of Being Earnest"

Lady Bracknell:
I have always been of the opinion that a man who desires to get married should know either everything or nothing. Which do you know?
Jack: I know nothing, Lady Bracknell.
Lady Bracknell: I am pleased to hear it. I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a very delicate exotic fruit. Touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately, in England at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor's Square.

Got it. :wink:

So the more ignorant I am, the better off I am. I certainly agree with that. No matter how much knowledge humans get, it seems they tend to use it in the worst possible way.

To quote whoever said it, "You can't fix stupid."

So, let me get this straight.
Curing ignorance is one of the goals of Buddhism.
but
Knowing Nothing or No Thing is an exalted state in Buddhism.
Many of us aspire to it.
So, you aspire to have an ailment that you're trying to remedy?

I'm beginning to think one of the goals of Buddhism, is to become as confused as possible. In which case, I think I'm already half converted. Or perhaps I'm not converted at all. Perhaps I don't know if I'm converted or not. How do I know if I know?

I think I just blew a synapse. :shock: It tickles. :D

Perhaps also trying a cure without an ailment :)

Too much thought
Not enough thinking without thought . . .

Drooling.

My cousin had asked for a customized version of Puppy and she too is Buddhist. Vision has inspired me to work on an alpha on 3.01.

The graphics you have in Vision are very nice. Great job - and thanks for the inspiration, Bodhisattva Lobster.
