Thanks - downloading now.
I suggest the name "Live Cow" - I have no idea how to use a dead cow.
And I can't see what version of Puppy this is based on.

Well I never actually call it Dead Cow Linux I'm lazy so most of the time its DCL. So what ever type of cow you want as long as it starts with a D is fine with me.

Oops, Its based on Puppy 3.01 and has Big Bass's Video fix.

Brandon,
I downloaded and tried DCL 2008 on my laptop (Averatec 3225HS - 512MB RAM, 40GB, Realtek Wireless Card, Via Video)
It looks good. A good first impression. Then I tried few programs that I regularly use.
GFTP - This worked .
Firefox - This worked. But the fonts were too small and did not look good. I dont know if this is my machine.
Wireless - worked out of the box.
Abiword - worked.
VLC - I was playing a a video stream and this worked. But when I minimize and restore, the X ends and I have to XWIN again to get back. This is the only error I found running DCL 2008 on my machine.
Thanks!

I have 256 MB RAM, DCL requires only 64 MB at least mmhhh... sounds very interesting... I willl try to have another pupplet to work differents programs without increase size of my original pup_save file
a newbie question: this is live CD? I can run DCL with puppy pfix=ram parameter?

DCL is one of the (bold?) puplets that replace the default "puppy" with its own name, in this case "dcl", so you will have to type "dcl pfix=ram".
BTW, DCL has good black theme implementation - am tempted to use one of the logos here for the center image.
I note that the hover text on Pmount is quite redundant - this needs fixing as it is a frequently viewed item, maybe remove the redundant caption.
Nice implementation of XFCE. How about an XFCE for Dingo alpha6? Charnisingh says it's working well.

I have not run into this problem but I haven't messed with VLC much.
And thanks for trying DCL.

Yes as Raffy says it would be "dcl pfix=ram" and its Live CD.

I'm not sure what that means?
BTW: I can't wait for Puppy 4.0!! I plan to use it as my base for DCL 2009.

Bring your cursor over the pmount icon on the task bar and you will see...

It could be considered that the tooltip is superfluous if it is the same as the window title. The difference becomes apparent when you have 20 windows open. You cannot read the window title on the taskbar.
