RssOwl

Hi I was looking for new software to add to FH&LW and basically I stumbled across this application, Its a really nice rss Newsreader, It needs java o be installed but works perfectly with my Firefox, java, flash package, all i did was untar the package and clicked on the rssowl.sh and it opened up straight away, then in the preferences i made a link to the default browser and boom opened up the pages in the browser window, really a no-brainier. The only reason why i didn't include it in Living water was because i couldn't get a shortcut to work in the menu or the desktop, when ever a external shortcut was made via .desktop or a regular drag to the desktop it just wouldn't start. if i clicked on the file itself it still worked. Basically it must be java starting thing. If anyone can get it going with a shortcut i would like to see the code, The way I look at it, the more I learn the better for everyone, ttuuxxx

thanks for that trapster but it wasn't that, I figured it out, very strange, I basically tried the shortcut with another program and just changed the filename.jar and then dragged it to the desktop and it worked:) So then the light bulb turned on and basically it was the default folder that came with the program, its permissions was wrong, that is strange, I know to check for the files but the folder? lol no-wonder why it was driving me nuts, lol well its all good now.
