I just updated the desktop file fixing it so only one menu entry is made. Re-download the dotpet if you want the fix.

Well, I assume you've got something hosed up after installing/re-installing the dotpets. My dotpet installs fine for me (and works) in Puppy 4. I wouldn't mess with mine in puppy 3 though since it appears not to work.

yes, in Puppy 3 the Puppy4-pets generate a Glib-error.
So I compiled it in Puppy3.

Hello Everyone,
I compiled gpicview in Puppy 2.14 and while the app opened and displayed my pictures, it kept crashing for some unknown reason.
As this is a very nice small pic viewer, could someone please compile it for the Puppy 2 series so it doesn't crash. Even use an earlier version of gpicview if need be. I know alot of us Puppy user's who still use the 2 series would enjoy this little pic app also.

you can look in /root/.packages/gpicviewxxx.files, that contains a list of all.
Or rename the .pet to .pet.tgz , then you can view the content in xarchive.
gpicview is installed as /usr/bin/gpicview

Ok.
in
/root/.packages/
I have only two files related to gpicview: (not gpicviewxxx.files)
- gpicview-0.1.7.pet
- gpicview_NLS-0.1.7.pet
can/must I have handly delete?
in /usr/bin/ gpicview is not present
waiting your wih opinions, I have made a little experiment, trying install gpicview on a fresh puppy 3.01 frugal install, absolutly clean and untoched before and I have the same problem, after installing, typyng
[b[gpicview[/b] in a shell, not found is retourned, and looking in a package manager, these two files are not showed.

no, not delete, they just list what was installed.
You can view them with leafpad.
I have no idea why it does not install on your system.
So you could rename to .tgz, and extract with xarchive instead.

No Mark, I cant view with leafpad, in /root/.packages/, these two files are unpacked, with original .pet extension, it semms that unpacking is not working fot these files
renaming as tgz and unpacking seems works, but my question is now, other .pet package related to gpicview, gpicview_NLS-0.1.7.pet what is it?
