"The cure which has been proven to work best for stubborn situations is to use Windex (USA) Windolene (UK) an ammonia based solution which acts a a solvent for pigmented residue on the external print head surfaces. A dilute mix (10:1) of household ammonia can also be used.
A few drops of the (light green or bluish fluid - not the pink gunk) liquid on the docking sponge and print head and with really persistent residue maybe filling a spent cartridge with Windex - then print a few Windex pages usually does work the miracle. The real cure of course is not to leave precision heads without some daily exercise. And preclude the clogging in the first place.
In situations where the ink level chip has to be reset (such as printing a Windex solution) use the ILRS Kit.
Isopropyl alcohol also moves stubborn residue but the above solution does not require disassembly."
