New Slimmer & Trimmer Fire Hydrant 3.01b 112mb

#1 Post by ttuuxxx »

Well From day 1 i've wanted to do something with JWM default manager on puppy so well i started messing around and came up with something thats eye pleasing, No IceWm, but just JWM. Also this release is based on puppy 3.01 not fatfree, I removed only programs that i was replacing with better ones, well at least i think so. :) So everything works well, like cups, Samba etc, actually I'll include a image of what was taken away/added.
I also changed the CD Drive, kind of cool looking.)
The files name is FH_Jwm3.01b.iso you can get it here at ------->>>

well macadavy if FH 3.01b runs well, then you probably don't need this one because its 80 MB smaller, so this versions has a lot less applications, but hey it will be 40% faster on boot up.:) have fun with it and tell me what you think of it.? It was a learning experience messing around with JWM.

why did you remove mp ? it is only 46kb hardly an impact on the iso size and is a lot more user frienldy than other cli text editors

otherwize looks good....

I really like the CD icon changes. Cb88's having us on, yes? A cli text editor in only 46kb - I mean that's just not possible, right!?

boots in DVD drive

#11 Post by raffy »

Any idea why it boots in DVD drive but can't in a 32X Samsung CD drive? Other puppies can boot from that CD drive.

EDIT: Right (see ttuuxxx below), this is a random error.

Raffy have other puppy "3.01" boot in your cd drive, I never changed any of the boot sequences what so ever, i didn't touch any system utilities or configuration files, That is so strange, must be one of those Unexplained puppy thing that we've grown to accept and enjoy, lol like ufo's. ttuuxxx
