Canon+cups=nothing (Solved)

#1 Post by Pizarro »

Just tried to to set up my printer a canon pixma ip3000 using cups. Turned on printer, booted system followed cups menu all seemed well (printer listed on usb 1 and named in driver list). Printer appears on screen in set up. Set as default. Clicked on test page message, cups states test page sent.Nothing at all from printer, not even a flash from the led.Printer works fine in Windows and ubuntu. Using puppy 3.01 running from usb pen drive.

I had the same problem in 3.01 and 2.17.1 so I downloaded cups-install-v0.3.pup

http://puppyfiles.org/dotpupsde/dotpups ... l-v0.3.pup

installed it and this fixed my problem in 2.17.1, I haven't tried it in 3.01 yet.

I retained the dotpup and when the printer jammed a page, which resulted in a big screwup in Cups I just re-ran the dotpup which fixed it.
