JWM Themes for puppy 1.0.5

#1 Post by rarsa »

GNU-Blue
Here is a blue theme I created for JWM for puppy 1.0.5.

I tried to keep smooth colors that would look nice even in a flickering monitor (low refresh rate)

It installs to ThroughJourney's JWM Theme selector.

Let your comments flow.

JWM Dragonfly theme

#2 Post by rarsa »

Dragonfly

Here is a green theme for JWM/GTK for puppy 1.0.5.

It installs to ThroughJourney's JWM Theme selector and to the GTK theme selector.

Let your comments flow.

**** Change log ***
1.2 - Oct 2 2005 00:12
- It installs and sets the Dragonfly GTK theme created by Alienx (forum name)
- It sets the Pinboard foreground color to yellow (the text under the icons)

1.1 - Sept 28, 2005 8:46 PM
- Correctly installs to /root/.jwm/themes
- More readable fonts.

Known bugs
As this theme is the only one that sets the GTK theme and the Pinboard fg color, if you change to a different theme, the GTK and Pinboard colors won't reset automatically. I am planning to contact toughjourney to add that functionality to her theme selector.

Dragonfly looks very elegant :-)

I think it is nice for people, who used Suse-Linux (Novell) before.
It has a green look, too.

Like it :)

I think, this tread was edited:
(The location for the jwm themes changed for the final release of 1.0.5. I will upload the themes once I repackage them)
So I just wait until the download links for final 1.0.5 reappear

Thank you,

It was 1:00 am when I tested pupy 1.0.5 final. I downloaded puppy it as soon as it was uploaded, but I was working on repackaging the vncserver dotpup. I had a meeting early today so I decided to leave it for latter today.

I removed the link as not to confuse people. I'm glad that Peter pitched in and fixed it.

I'm at work right now, so I will upload it later today.

Please notice that Peter's version is the first version I released, Since then I've made some improvements in fonts, colors and background.

I finaly had a moment to update the themes dotPups.

They now install correctly to /root/.jwm/themes.

The latest versions are at the top of this thread

If you downloaded and installed the versions provided by peterSieg and BarryK, you can install the newest version over, it will completely replace the older versions.

Dragonfly theme

#15 Post by psr1 »

When I installed the Dragonfly theme...the text under the desktop icons stayed black.

Any way to change that?

Right click on any of the icons and select the "Options " menu entry.

There you open the "pinboard" tab and select the color you want for the text.

I will investigate how to change it through my JWM theme installer.

Gnu-Blue

#17 Post by kcin »

Rars,

I liked your Gnu-Blue theme; I have it installed now, but I changed the wallpaper to my favorite bluish wallpaper (From Vectorlinux: "AloneIsWhenYouAreShining.jpg." )and now I need to adjust the desktop font color for better contrast.

Can you (or anyone else out there) tell me how to do that?

I also want to change the color of the inactive titlebar to get rid of the slightly greenish tinge it has ( at least on my laptop lcd )

I'm guessing these two settings are in the same config file somewhere... Can you tell me enough to get me started on fixing this color issue?

Best Regards,

kcin

To change the color for the desktop icons label follow my previous post.

To change the colors for the inactive title bar you need to edit the /root/.jwm/themes/jwm-gnu-blue file.

Change the <Background> color for the <Border>

This is a screen shot of a JWM theme that my daughter is working on for me.
Everything is a draft. It will take a while to develop the graphics.
