I have an issue extracting and repackageing teenpup2.14.1

#1 Post by cb88 »

I am trying to rebuild the pup_214.sfs with devx_214.sfs installed in the pup_214.sfs and my current attempt seems to have failed

i have mounted and copied the contents of pup_214.sfs to a folder and it seems to be about 80 mb short of what it should be... also i find it rather strange that nothing is in the /usr folder excecpt an LC_MESSAGES directory

If i figure right teenpup should extract about 800mb shouldn't it? only 313 mb are being extracted.... I tried just plain copying and also Pmirror

I have done this sucessfully with several sfs files perhaps the pup_214.sfs is different but I don't see how it should extract all the files just fine like any other sfs as far as I know

i just mounted pup_214.sfs & everything is as it should be. so does the original 2.14 .iso boot? if it does, then how are you mounting it, and what pupversion are you using to mount. (as different pupversions may not be able to use squash file systems, depending on whether lzma used etc)

I was mounting pup_214.sfs in puppy 300 but apparently they are incompatable.... at least my installation is..

booted up my scratched up cd of 2.14 and it worked perfect now i have gcc in teenpup I think i'll give a copy to my c++ teacher...

rebuilding an sfs with over a gb of content takes a while... :)
