I've tried to install on my system (puppy 2.16).

I've 400MB of free puppysave space.

The installer says:
ERROR: Not enough free diskspace¸
you have MB¸ but needed are !

and just an "okay" button appears

Any idea?

Thanks

A suggestion:
unzip stardict.pup in /tmp
Copy all to /usr
make shortcut on desktop
(No need to install in EZpup)

I've followed your suggestion.

Files extracted at /tmp are:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3588640 Aug 27 11:23 FILESYSTEM.tbz
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 255 Aug 27 11:23 checkspace.pb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Aug 27 11:23 config.files
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 274 Aug 27 11:23 dfree.sh
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 16145 Aug 27 11:23 dotpup.sh
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 577 Aug 27 11:23 gauge.pb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 80 Aug 27 11:25 info.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 603 Aug 27 11:23 md5sum.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 239 Aug 27 11:23 pbexeccmd.pb
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3 Aug 27 11:23 size.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 3 Aug 27 11:23 sizefilesystem.txt
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2543 Aug 27 11:23 space.sh
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2562 Aug 27 11:23 space2.sh
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1507 Aug 27 11:23 stardict-3.0.1.tbz
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 24 Aug 27 11:23 wxbmenue.rc

I'm not sure which one is the executable or if I need to run anything else.

I will investigate a little more.

Thanks anyway

click on FILESYSTEM.tbz & extract that to /tmp, then move the necessary parts to /usr.

phantrongnghia, what is Stardict? Is it only Vietnamese-to-English?

Flash,

Stardict is a powerfull dictionary with too many languages available:
http://stardict.sourceforge.net/

The great thing that it has and I like is the compatibility with Babylon database. (Babylon is a not free famous dictionary for windows).

I think this puppy package has the basic databases for default application (stardict database).

In above link there are instructions in howto use other databases as the default ones.

I'm planning to install it today since I had some trouble yesterday.

phantrongnghia,

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks

phantrongnghia ,

the dotpup-wizard will try to find out, how much space is needed for the files on the target-system.
On your computer, it did not work correct, the value was empty.

I simply extracted your dotpup manually, then I created it again with the dotpup-wizard.
On my system, it worked correct now.

I currently have no idea, why it worked wrong on yours.
Did you have the files on a second harddrive?
Though this should be no problem, I have 16 partitions...

stardict hangs

#12 Post by dr_spork »

I installed Stardict as per this dotpup and it immediately opens Dillo to the Puppy help page and then hangs. So disappointing because I think this is a pretty useful app for people like me who need to consult dictionaries offline.
