How can Puppy speak Japanese?

Hi puppy people!

my puppy is running great. everything i want is running well,
except i want to add japanese language support.
how can i do that?

i have puppy installed on his own partition. my linux knowlege is limited.
any assistance appreciated,

Good news!
Puppy Linux's author figured out how to change the locale setting (i.e. change to your local language) in Puppy. He made the announcement on the Puppy News page under 7 Sept 2005.
If you still need help, let me know if you want to wait for instructions to change languages until the release of Puppy Linux 1.0.5 or not.

Vraiment bon nouveautees :)

I'm really look straight forward the 1.0.5, that will be *the* important point for many germans (japanese, russian...) to use puppy :-)

Japanese is more difficult ... icewm does not seem to have a suitable font to use

This looks promising. Did you manage to get input method working as well? I think the most popular one is SCIM as the input method platform (for any language) with Anthy used to support Japanese lang:
