aMule 2.1.3 and wxGTK 2.6.3 alien packages ready Subject description: Download aMule 2.1.3 and wxGTK 2.6.3 |
|
Hi everybody,
I compiled and prepared aMule-2.1.3 and wxGTK-2.6.3 . You can download it and install it as alien packages from:
http://ecomoney.eu/puppy/distros/giovelug/packages/
Please, read this note also:
http://www.amule.org/wiki/index.php/Compilation_Installation
Of course you don't need to compile because I already did it but the aMule guys say to uninstall any previous version of wxWidgets. Furthermore, I hope I catched all the files of wxGTK-2.6.3 libraries to package it in an alien package.
I compiled it under Puppy 2.13 but it seems to work also with Puppy 2.11.
If Mark and some other guy want to mirror it, please do it .
Hope you have fun

works in my Muppy 006 at first sight
mirror:
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Peer_2_Peer/amule-2.1.3.tar.gz
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Libraries/WxGTK-2.6.3-unicode.tar.gz
I repackaged wx with a different name to avoid confusion with the non-unicode dotpup I made some days ago.
I also used a big "W" in the beginning, as Pupget sometimes has problems with packages with lowercase letters in the beginning.

Great .
Well, in the same place is now possible to download the same packages but with 2 minor fixes:
1. Following Mark tips first letter is now a case letter
2. I stripped wxGTK libraries from its symbols and now it is 1 gb smaller than before. Thanks to Klhrevolutionist to let me know and note it

you should be able to install it with PetGet.

hi again, sorry for the delay... I had several troubles :-O
when I try to install the package through petget I always get an error like this:
| Quote: | The xyz.tar.gz package has been downloaded to /root/.packages, however there is not enough room to uncompress and install it.
The free space is 17148 blocks but it is estimated you will need 28160 blocks temporarily for the expansion and install.
Note: if you are using a pup_save.3fs personal storage file, it can be made bigger -- See utilities menu.
This script will now delete the package and exit... |
but there is a lot of free space... I've installed the puppy OS on a 4GB compact flash and my personal storage file is bigger than 3GB and almost totally free... where is the problem and how can I solve it? It's weird and it's driving me crazy!
Thank you all!

that must be a bug in PetGet.
Try to install it with PSI:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=10960
If that still fails, we needed to extract and copy your files by hand.

please exit X, then type:
fixmenus
xwin
If there is no menu to exit X, hit the 3 keys "CTRL ALT Backspace" simultaneously.
Concerning this libgtk2 error I would need the exact message to be able to help.

ok, just another problem...
killing x, then executing fixmenus and xwin to restart x works fine... but very often I'm connected through VNC and I cannot send ctrl+alt+backspace... I've then tried to execute kill <PID of XWIN> and it works, but obviously my VNC connection breaks and I cannot send fixmenus and xwin commands...
I suppose that I need to connect to my puppypc through a command line tool in order to kill the x server, fix the menus, restart x and finally reconnect through vnc. How can this be done?
thank you for your patience
