isa pnp hardware modem Subject description: How do i get it to work
OS: 2.16.1
USR 56k hardware ISA modem (5687-53) set to pnp
Modem works in win98.
win98 says com1 & 2 are 2f8, 3f8 and modem uses 2e8/int3
dmesg shows isapnp found modem.
Did pnpdump > /etc/isapnp.conf
and uncommented 2e8.
Displaying "io" shows serial addresses are 2e8, 2f8, 3f8.
I can't find isapnp or setserial commands.
I tried the Modem Wizard. That didnt help.
It either saw nothing or no IRQ.

the modem wizard couldn't find my external serial modem either, but i just selected ttyS0 anyway, and it works fine. if you're not sure which ttyS? to use, run wvdialconf create, in a console window, and it should detect your modem.
